THANKS: Thank you for your generous support to the collection last week for Peter’s Pence.  This will assist Pope Francis in his many works.

Many thanks to Louise and Conner Sullins for mowing the church property. It looks very nice.

Our gratitude to the individuals who prepared the refreshments for our mission.

SECOND COLLECTION: Next week, we will take up the Catholic Home Missions Appeal.  Right now, over 40 percent of dioceses in the US are considered home missions because they are unable to fund essential pastoral work needed in their communities.  Your support of this appeal helps ease the struggle of these dioceses.  Please prayerfully consider how you can support this appeal.

JOB OPENING: Father Joe is seeking to hire a full time Director of Religious Education to oversee programs at both IHM and Nativity parishes. Please see the flyer in the narthex for details or contact the parish office.

CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS: Hillsboro CDA Court #2143 will meet the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the parish hall at Our Lady of Mercy Church.  All ladies of the parish are invited.

CHOIR PRACTICE: There will be Choir practice after Mass on Monday, July 3rd.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

PARISH DATABASE: The parish is making every effort to get a listing of all the Catholics who live within our parish boundaries. If you are a parishioner or are new to the parish and have not completed a parish registration form, please take one from the back table.  Also, if you are aware of any homebound individuals, please take them a form and assist them in completing and returning it. They can be mailed to the church at 601 W. Houston, Abbott, Texas 76621 or dropped in the collection basket.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: Adoration will take place every Saturday beginning at 4:30 p.m. and ending with Benediction at 5:30.  Please sign the sheet at the entrance of the Church to ensure that someone is available to adore.

HILLSBORO INTERFAITH MINISTRIES: HIM is a county wide entity which provides food and clothing among other things to those less fortunate.  Monetary donations, food, and clothing can be delivered to the distribution center located 214-A East Elm Street in Hillsboro (across the street from the closed Wells Fargo). Also, the center can always use extra volunteers.  To get more information about contributing or how to become a volunteer, please contact George Harris at 254-580-2717.

FLOWERS THIS WEEKEND: The flowers on the altar are in memory of the individuals who sacrificed much to make our country what it is today. This week as we celebrate let us remember to pray that God will strengthen and bless America and make our nation a haven of liberty and justice for all — born and unborn.
