SECOND COLLECTION: Next weekend, our parish will take up the Catholic Relief Services Collection. This collection supports six Catholic agencies that touch more than 100 million lives around the world. The funds from this collection help provide food to the hungry, support to displaced refugees, and Christ’s love and respect to all people. Next week, please give generously to the Catholic Relief Services Collection and help Jesus in disguise.
RICE BOWL: We encounter Fernando in El Salvador where, despite a lack of economic opportunity, youth are pursuing their dreams of building businesses to better the lives of their families. How have you worked to better the lives of others this Lent?
THANK YOU: Our gratitude goes out to those parishioners who provided meals, snacks, and drinks for the UTA students who accomplished several projects for our parish this past week.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Our parish will have Stations of the Cross at 6:30 p.m., on Fridays during Lent. If any group wishes to lead the stations, please contact the office. Available dates include: March 24, 31, & April 7.
PENANCE SERVICE: There are several options for receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation during this Lenten Season. Besides the usual confessions times before our weekend Masses, there will be a Penance Service held in Penelope on Thursday, March 23rd from 5:00 p.m. until Mass starts at 7:00 p.m. Another Penance Service will be held at Abbott on Monday, March 27th. The service will begin with a program at 6:30 p.m. followed by confessions until 8:00 p.m. Please plan to be there for the beginning.
RCIA: Class will meet on Sun., March 19th from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The topics include: A Love That Lasts: Discovering Authentic Love; What is Authentic Human Love?, The World’s Understanding of Love and Why it Leaves Us Unsatisfied, The Relationship Between Eros and Agape Love, The Call to Self-Giving Love. Also, A Love That Lasts: God’s Plan for Sexuality; The Sexual Union Expresses Marital Love, The Sexual Union Is Meant to Reflect Christ’s Love for the Church, Contraception vs. Natural Family Planning, Pre-Marital Sex and Cohabitation, Sterilization and In-Vitro Fertilization, Pornography and the Battle of Purity.
ADULT FORMATION: The Adult Formation Class will not meet on Wednesday, March 22nd. All are encouraged to attend Mass, beginning at 6:30 p.m. followed by Stations of the Cross with the CCD classes.
CCD: All CCD classes will meet in the church for Mass at 6:30 p.m. followed by Stations of the Cross. Parents are encouraged to attend as well.
EASTER FLOWERS: Easter lily orders need to in by March 19th. Please enclose your payment for the number of plants that you intend to purchase and drop in the collection basket. Checks should be made payable to Wolfe Wholesale Florist. If you have any questions, please call the office.
MINISTER SCHEDULES: New minister schedules for Altar Servers, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharistic, and Ushers are ready to be picked up. In an effort to save postage, please get yours from the back table.
CHOIR PRACTICE: There will be Choir practice after Mass on Monday, March 20th. Everyone is welcome to attend.

FUNDRAISER: The History of West Museum will hold its 5th Annual Spring Fundraiser at the West Knights of Columbus Hall on Sunday, April 2nd. The meal consists of fried chicken, sausage, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, slaw, dessert and tea will begin at 11:00 a.m. Cost is $10; eat-in and to-go plates will be available. A live auction will begin at noon; there will also be a silent auction and raffle.
KC MEETING: The Knights of Columbus will have their quarterly meeting this Monday, March 20th in the ACIO Building at 6:30 p.m. There will be a meal provided.
SCHOLARSHIP: The Catholic Daughters is offering a scholarship to Hillsboro and Abbott graduates this year. To get an application please contact Helen Mach at 254-582-3932. You may also go online to the Hillsboro Church site. Computer applications will be accepted until April 20th.
SCHOLARSHIP: The Monsignor George Doskocil Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus in West is offering $500 scholarships for graduating seniors in this area. Applications are located on the back table. The deadline to apply is April 1st.
DIOCESAN TRAVEL PROGRAM: Our own, Father Joe will be the chaplain for the upcoming pilgrimage to France. It will take place October 18-30, 2017. So, plan ahead.
