SECOND COLLECTION: Next weekend our parish will take up the Collection for the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC). This Collection communicates the Gospel through Catholic social media activities and enriches our faith through Internet, television, radio, and print media.  Half of all proceeds remain in our diocese and support local needs, so please be generous in this collection.  CCC equips us to share our experience of faith, worship, and witness with the world.

NEW PRIEST ASSIGNMENTS: If you missed the announcement last weekend, the parish is excited to learn of the assignment of Deacon Joseph Keating to serve Abbott and Penelope effective August 1st. Deacon Keating will be ordained to the priesthood at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Fort Worth on Saturday, May 21st at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Ouseph will remain in Hillsboro and Fr. Michael has been assigned to Saint Vincent de Paul in Arlington effective July 1st.

CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to the second grade CCD class on receiving the sacrament of First Holy Communion this weekend! The First Communicants are Will Gerik, Wyatt Holecek, Cheyenne, Linder, Addison Padgett, Ryan Pustejovsky, Gabbie Salazar, Seth Sustala.  To the First Communicants, may the Holy Spirit continue to work through you in growing and in sharing your Catholic faith, and may you continue to feel the “wholeness” that you feel today in receiving Jesus at every Mass.

MOTHER’S DAY FLOWERS: Donations for Mother’s Day flowers need to be turned in by today, May 1st.  To honor or remember a special lady in your life, put your intentions, along with your donation in an envelope marked “Mother’s Day Flowers” and drop in the collection basket.

SPRING FLING: KJZT Society #104 is sponsoring a donut breakfast and Spring Fling egg hunt for our parish family today after Mass.  Donuts, coffee and juice will be served in the Smid Center.  Children through the 6th grade are invited to participate in the hunt.  Don’t forget your baskets!

PASTORAL COUNCIL NOMINATIONS: Today is the last day to nominate an individual who you feel would lead our parish at this time. Please write the name or names on a slip of paper and place in the collection basket by Sunday, May 1st . Members of the Finance Council are unable to serve on both councils, therefore do not nominate Charles Beseda, Annette Ballew, or Lucy Pustejovsky. There are three members who have finished their terms on the Pastoral Council that are not eligible to serve for one year.
