SPECIAL COLLECTION: This weekend, there will be a second collection for the Catholic Communication Campaign which connects people with Christ, here and around the world in developing countries, through the internet, television, radio, and print media.  Fifty percent of funds collected remains in our diocese to fund local communications efforts.  Please be generous.

Thank you for the generosity towards the special collection for the East Texas tornado victims. It will help replace household goods, assist in rebuilding homes and support throughout recovery.

THANKS!:The KJZT Juniors would like to thank the parish community for its generous support of the juniors’ summer camp fundraiser last weekend.  It was a great success!  Juniors will continue to sell raffle tickets until camp begins on June 22.  The raffle drawing will take place during camp.

SANCTUARY FLOWERS: The flowers on the altar this weekend are given in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Polansky and Mr. & Mrs. Victor Pavlas, Sr. by Mr. & Mrs. Sam Polansky.

NEW OFFICE HOURS: Beginning June 5th the church will have new office hours. The office will be open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

MINISTER SCHEDULES: New schedules for Lectors, Altar Servers, Ushers, and Eucharistic Ministers will be coming out in July.  Lectors need to have received the sacrament of Confirmation. Altar Servers need to have received the sacrament of First Holy Communion. Head Ushers need to be an adult. Training is available for all these roles. If you are new and wish to be added or need to make any changes, including a new contact number, please include it on the information sheet located on the back table. Please put these in the collection basket by June 11th.  Hope to see some new faces.

FATHER’S DAY FLOWERS: Donations are now being accepted for Father’s Day flowers.  To honor or remember a special man in your life, put your intentions, along with your donation in one of the special envelopes located at the entrances of the church and drop in the collection basket by June 4th.

HAMBURGER SUPPER: The Knights of Columbus will host a hamburger supper on Saturday, June 10th in the parish hall from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The meal consisting of hamburgers and all the trimmings, french fries, pinto beans, dessert, and tea will be $8.00 for adult and to go plates and $5.00 for children plates 12 and under. The proceeds will benefit Deacon Denver Crawley who currently serves our parish and for Terry Timmons, our deacon candidate who is in formation. Everyone is invited to come enjoy a good meal and fellowship all while supporting a worthy cause.

FATIMA: The International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima is touring the Diocese of Dallas  June 2nd through June 24th. To celebrate the 100 year anniversary (1917 – 2017) of Our Lady’s apparitions in Fatima, visit www.dallasfatimatour.com for the schedule of participating parishes. FYI, the statue will be at two nearby cities: Monday, June 5th at St. Joseph – 600 E. Marvin in Waxahachie from 4 – 7 p.m. and Tuesday, June 6th at Immaculate Conception – 3000 W. Hwy 22 in Corsicana from 5:30 – 8:45 p.m.

ADULT CONFIRMATION:  The Sacrament of Confirmation will be offered to adults at the parish on Pentecost Sunday.  Any Catholic adult who has not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation is asked to contact Fr. Joe during the Easter Season to arrange for reception of the Sacrament.

CDA FUNDRAISER: The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Sacred Heart #829 of West will host the annual ‘Taste of West’ fundraiser on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the St. Mary’s Parish Center, 507 W. Spruce Street in West, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The donation for Adults will be $8.00 and Children $4.00.  “Take-outs” will be available.  There will be a Silent Auction during the luncheon.  Silent auction items are needed.  Please call Debby Marak at 254-749-8605 or Lori Wolf at 254-749-7995.  Raffle tickets are available for $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00.  Each member is asked to sell at least one book of raffle tickets.  For tickets, call any CDA member or Evelyn Petter, 254-826-5675.
