FISH/CHICKEN DINNER: Today is the day for our Fish/Chicken dinner. Serving is from 11:00 – ? Parishioners who last name begins with N – Z are asked to please provide a dessert for the meal. Plan to come out and enjoy some good food and fellowship.
SPECIAL COLLECTION: Next week’s collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development needs your help. CCHD was founded to end the cycle of poverty in the United States by funding organizations that help individuals help themselves. With the tradition of improving education, housing situations, and community economic development, CCHD continues to make a positive impact in communities nationwide. Your contribution will defend human dignity and reach out to those living on the margins. Please give to the CCHD collection.
KJZT BAKE SALE: The KJZT will hold a bake sale in conjunction with the Fish Dinner. This sale is held to fulfill the “People Helping People” requirement by the State Office. The proceeds will be given to the Abbott Community Improvement Organization (ACIO). The State Office will match 50% of the funds raised. Members are asked to please support this project. If you are willing to work a 30 minute shift at the dinner, please call Jeanette Urbanovsky at 694-3932.
PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE: The KJZT Juniors will participate in their People Helping People Parish Fund Raiser project as they help host the parish fried fish dinner on November 15. Juniors need to wear their royal blue t-shirts, jeans and comfortable shoes. Juniors working the first shift need to report for assignment of duties at 10:45.
CHRISTMAS FLOWERS: Parishioners will have an opportunity to pre-order poinsettias which will be used to decorate our church for the Christmas season. Orders can be made over the next two weekends, ending November 22nd. Envelopes, located at the entrances of the church, can be used to write your intentions and enclosing the payment for the number of plants that you intend to purchase. The cost of each plant is $10.20 and can be paid for with either cash or by check. Please make the check payable to Wolfe Wholesale Florist. Your completed envelope can be placed in the collection basket. Orders are being taken for plants that will be for church use only. No extra plants will be ordered. INTENTIONS NEEDED: We are in need of Cross Light intentions. Anyone wishing to send in requests may do so by enclosing the intention and donation in a specially marked envelope and placing it in the collection basket.
FOOD FOR FAMILIES: The KJZT and KJZT Jr’s are participating in the Fraternal Cause called Feeding Families Across Texas. In addition to the donation being made by our local KJZT and KJZT Jr.s, we are extending the invitation to participate in this cause to our parish families and would appreciate monetary donations. As part of the People Helping People project, the State KJZT Office is offering matching funds up to $200 to each the KJZT and KJZT Jr’s. What a great way to make your donation go farther. If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, please place your donation in an envelope marked “Food For Families” into the collection basket by November 15th. Please make any checks payable to the Abbott KJZT #104. The total donation will then be sent to the Hillsboro Interfaith Ministries on November 20th. Thanks for your support!
