SECOND COLLECTION: Next weekend, our parish will take up the Collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The AMS relies solely on private donors to support its mission, which will help parishioners and their families who serve or have served this nation with distinction as members of the U.S. military.  The collection will provide the sacrament and other forms of spiritual support to the men and women of the armed forces wherever they serve and to veterans who are in VA medical centers.  Prayerfully consider a generous contribution to this special triennial collection.

HOLY DAY: Tues., Nov. 1st is All Saints Day which is a Holy Day of Obligation. Opportunities to attend Mass:

FISH/CHICKEN DINNER/RAFFLE: Sunday (today) will be the last day to make a donation towards the Fish Dinner Raffle. The deadline has been moved up so that tickets can go out November 6th. To donate, please contact Agnes Timmons at 254-580-8125. All donations will be appreciated.

THANK YOU: Thank You to the Abbott KJZT #104 for providing the funds for installing the historical marker north of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church which honors the Czech settlers in the Abbott community.  Also, “Thank You” to Roger and Ryan Kaska and the Abbott Community Improvement Organization for their work and completion of this project.

BAPTISM: Through Baptism, the parish welcomes into its family, Remington Pustejovsky, the son of Dale & Julie Pustejovsky.   Remington was baptized on Saturday, October 22nd.

PARISH DATABASE: If you have not turned in your parish registration form, please continue to complete them and get them in. The parish is making every effort to get a listing of all the Catholics who live within our parish boundaries. Therefore, if you are aware of any homebound individuals, please take them a form and assist them in completing and returning it. Extra forms are located at all entrances of the church. They can be mailed to the church or dropped in the collection basket.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: Students in the CCD Program will be participating in Operation Christmas Child. Everyone in the parish is invited to participate as well. The boxes will be packed on November 9th in the Smid Center. Flyers with more information are located on the back table. Items that you wish to include in the boxes can be brought to the Smid Center on that date or left on the back table.

COUNCIL MEETINGS: The Finance Council will meet on Monday, November 7th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.  The Pastoral Council will meet at 7:30 p.m.

MEETING: KJT and KJZT will meet immediately after mass on Sunday, October 30, 2016.  There are several important items on the agenda.  Please plan to attend.

MEETING: CDA will have its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 1.  Social begins at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting following at 7:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Hall in West.

GARAGE SALE: there are a few items for sale in the rectory:
Riding Lawnmower — $500.00 / OBO; Set of speakers: two wooden cases each containing a 16” and a 12” speaker —$50/set OBO. If you are interested in any of these items, please contact the church office.

RCIA: Class will take place on Sunday evening, October 30th from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m in the Parish Hall. The topics include Why Did Jesus Die?, Christ’s Sacrifice Fulfills and Surpasses All Old Testament Sacrifices, Jesus’ Descent Into Hell, The Resurrection of Christ, Embracing the Crosses in Our Lives and Living the Paschal Mystery.  All people are invited to attend.

ADULT FORMATION: Come join the Adult Formation class on Wednesday from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The topics include: Who is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit and the Life of Grace and Sanctification, The Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit, How Are We Saved?, and Living in Relationship with the Holy Spirit. All are invited.

MINISTER SCHEDULES: New minister schedules for Altar Servers, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharistic, and Ushers are ready to be picked up.  In an effort to save postage, please get yours from the back table.
