Father Joseph Keating was raised in San Angelo, the son of Bob and Pris Keating. He has two younger brothers, Steve and David. While a freshman at Texas Tech, he went on a retreat and considered the priesthood. By the end of college, he had grown deeper in his relationship with the Lord, and he considered seminary. However, after earning his degree in Marketing, he worked in a pharmacy for a year and then worked for two years as a youth minister. By then, his call to the priesthood was clear, and he spent the next two years at Holy Trinity Seminary. He spent the next four years studying theology at Pontifical North American College in Rome. He was ordained as a deacon on October 1, 2015 in Rome. He was ordained as a priest on May 21, 2016 in Fort Worth at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. His first assignment as a priest is at the churches in Penelope and Abbott. He enjoys music, hunting, and cooking (especially Italian food based on his years in Rome). He is excited about his ministry, and his congregations are blessed to have him lead their churches.
