THANK YOU: Your support of the Good Shepherd Sunday Collection which supports our seminarians was incredible. Many thanks.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: Today we celebrate the First Holy Communion of the Second Grade CCD class. KJZT will be hosting a kolache breakfast for everyone.  Please help celebrate this special event with our first communicants and their families.

MOTHER’S DAY FLOWERS:
Donations are now being accepted for Mother’s Day flowers. To honor or remember a special lady in your life, put your intentions, along with your donation in an envelope marked “Mother’s Day Flowers” and drop in the collection basket by next Sunday, May 1st.

MAY CROWNING: Crowning of our Blessed Mother – The KJZT Juniors and all CCD students of our parish will gather to honor and crown our Blessed Mother Mary with flowers onWednesday, April 27 at 6:35 pm (immediately following the 6 pm mass).  All students should report to their classrooms in the hall at 6:30 pm.  Don’t forget to bring a spring bouquet of flowers for Mary.  Following the short ceremony, all CCD students are invited to the end of the year pizza party in the hall.

SPRING FLING: KJZT Society #104 is sponsoring a donut breakfast and Spring Fling egg hunt for our parish family after the 8 am mass on Sunday, May 1.  Donuts, coffee and juice will be served in the Smid Center.  Children through the 6th grade are invited to participate in the hunt.  Don’t forget your baskets!

DINNER/RAFFLE: Our annual BBQ dinner is quickly approaching. The dinner and raffle will be held on Sunday, May 15th. At this time, we would like to start collecting raffle items or cash to go towards the purchase of an item. To donate, please contact Agnes Timmons at 254-580-8125. So that tickets can be printed, please contact by April 25th. All donations will be greatly appreciated.

PASTORAL COUNCIL NOMINATIONS: Parishioners will have the opportunity over the next two weekends to nominate individuals or themselves as a candidate to fill one of four positions on the Pastoral Council. Prayerfully consider who would lead our parish at this time and then write the name or names (there is no limit) on a slip of paper and place in the collection basket by Sunday, May 1st . Members of the Finance Council are unable to serve on both councils, therefore do not nominate Charles Beseda, Annette Ballew, or Lucy Pustejovsky. There are three members who have finished their terms on the Pastoral Council that are not eligible to serve for one year. They include Mike Bezdek, Joyce Lenart, and Johnnie Krenek. Finally, please do not nominate any current members of the Pastoral Council members:   Karen Marak, Gary Pustejovsky, Molly Gerik, Andy Pustejovsky, and Ernie Pustejovsky.

RAFFLE: The KJZT Junior Division will be selling raffle tickets after the weekend masses on April 30 & May 1.  The juniors will be attending Camp Guardian Angel in June, and 100% of sale proceeds go toward their camp fees.   Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5.  The raffle drawing will be held during camp and the top prize is a $500 Visa gift card.  You can contact a junior member anytime between now and the end of June to purchase raffle tickets.  The juniors appreciate your generous support!

JOSEPH SEMINARY FLOOD: St. Joseph Abbey and Seminary — a place that helps prepare young men from the Diocese of Fort Worth for the priesthood — is now in desperate need of help from North Texas Catholics. A devastating March 11 flood damaged every building on the 1,200-acre campus in southern Louisiana, including the library, dormitory halls, cafeteria, and gym. The cost of recovery, cleanup, and reconstruction to date is estimated to be in the millions. Roughly $3 million is estimated solely for cleanup. The Benedictine monks who operate the Abbey and seminary have no flood insurance. Fr. Wilcox, Diocesan Vocations Director, and Fort Worth Bishop Michael Olson ask the Catholics of the diocese to prayerfully consider helping the Abbey and seminary return to full strength. Donations to the Abbey’s flood relief efforts can be made at the secure website www.helptheabbey.com.
