ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY: Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is on Monday, August 15th.  Since it falls on a Monday, it is not a holy day of obligation in the United States.

THANK YOU:  Your generosity towards the Priest Care Fund Special Collection last weekend is greatly appreciated. This will go a long way to help retired and infirmed priests.

RECONCILIATION: Please note the new Sacrament of Reconciliation times for our parish. Saturday – 5:00 – 5:45 p.m. and Sunday 7:00 – 7:45 a.m.

OFFICE HOURS: Rectory Office Hours for the secretary are as follows: Sunday 9:00 – (as late as) 12:00 pm; Monday & Thursday 8:00 – 12:00 pm; Tuesday & Wednesday 1:00 – 5:00 pm.

SPAGHETTI DINNER: Our Annual Spaghetti Dinner will be held on Sunday, August 28th. The meal consisting of spaghetti and meat sauce, salad bar, garlic bread, dessert and drink is from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00. Adult plates and plates to go are $8.00, and $6.00 for children under 12. Please invite your family and friends to come out and enjoy a delicious meal and fellowship. Parishioners whose last names begin with N – Z are asked to please bring a dessert to be served with the meal.  If anyone wishes to make a cash donation towards the meat or other ingredients, please put it in a specially marked envelope and place it in the collection basket.

BAKE SALE: The KJZT will be having a Bake Sale on Sunday, August 28, 2016 in conjunction with the Parish Spaghetti Dinner.  Proceeds from the bake sale will be presented to Terry Timmons to assist him with his deaconate training expenses.  This project falls into the People Helping People Parish Fund Raiser category and the State KJZT office will match funds.  All KJZT members are asked to donate an item or two to the bake sale as we work toward making this worthy cause a success.  If anyone can help work a shift at the bake sale, please contact Jeanette Urbanovsky @ 694-3932.

CCD TEACHER NEEDED: Our religious education program is in need of someone to teach the Eighth Grade.  If you would be willing to share your time with the students, please contact Traci Pustejovsky at 254-580-8202.

INTENTIONS NEEDED: We are in need of  Sanctuary Light intentions. Anyone wishing to send in requests may do so by enclosing the intention and donation in a specially marked envelope and placing it in the collection basket.

FESTIVAL: The Church of the Assumption in West will have their Parish Festival on Sunday, August 14th at the Knights of Columbus Grounds. A home-cooked Fried Chicken (baked chicken also available) and Sausage Dinner will be served beginning at 11:00 a.m. Adults & Plates – to – go will be available. Auction, Bingo, & Water Games (bring your swim suit) will begin at 12:15 p.m.  A raffle will be held at 4:00 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited to attend!

GRIEF SUPPORT: A grief support group meeting will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, August 18th at St. Joseph’s Hall next to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  This is a support group for those in the community who want to gain a better understanding of all the changes experienced in the grief process.

CONFERENCE: Dallas Ministry conference, Walking Together in Faith will be presented by the University of Dallas and co-sponsored by the Diocese of Dallas on September 29th – October 1st. Flyers are available on the back bulletin board .

VOCATIONS: All women (15 and older) discerning their vocation to the Religious Life are invited to join Bishop Olson for the Marian Dinner and Mass on Monday, August 15th from 6-8:30 p.m. at St. Philip’s in Lewisville. See the poster on the back bulletin board for more info.
