RITE OF SENDING: This Sunday we give a send-off for our catechumen and our two candidates for  reception into full communion with the Catholic Church.  Kenna Marek, Robert Moore, and Michael Holcomb will travel to Granbury to be received by Bishop Olson next Saturday in the Rite of Election.  Please keep them in your prayers as they make their final preparations for initiation into the Catholic Church.

HAMBURGER SUPPER FUNDRAISER: Youth Hamburger Supper on Wednesday, February 22nd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All plates, including To Go come with a burger, beans, French fries, tater tots, and ice tea for the price are $6.00. See you there.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Our parish will have Stations of the Cross at 6:30 p.m., on Fridays during Lent. In the past, they have been led by parish organizations or CCD classes. If any group wishes to lead the stations, please contact the office.  Available dates include: March 3, 17, 24, 31, & April 7.

CATHOLIC RADIO: Total consecration to Jesus is an exercise to increase your spirituality and your ability to truly serve Jesus.  RED-C Catholic Radio,98.3, KYAR-FM invites you to join us as we consecrate ourselves and this radio station to Jesus through Mary which will begin on Feb. 20 and last until March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation. If you are unable to join us at the beginning, please feel free to join in anytime during this 33-day consecration.  We will be using the book, “33 Days to Morning Glory by Fr. Michael Gaitley.  Tune into RED-C Catholic Radio at 6:00 am or 9:00 pm for daily reflections, or go to our website, www.redcradio.org/consecration to listen to them anytime.  Again, join us Feb. 20 – March 25 as we consecrate ourselves and RED-CCatholic Radio to Jesus through Mary.

ADULT FORMATION: The Adult Formation Class will meet on Wednesday, February 22nd in the Smid Center because of the Hamburger Supper. The topic will include:Christ Instituted the Sacrament of Penance; The Sacrament of Mercy; Why Must I Confess My Sins to a Priest?; The Effects of the Sacrament of Penance; Preparation and How to Make a Good Confession; What is the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick and What are the Effects?; Who can Receive Anointing of the Sick?; The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick and Preparation for Death. 

RCIA: Class will not meet on Sunday, February 19th because of the Appreciation Meal.

FRIED CHICKEN DINNER: Nativity of the BVM is having their annual Fried Chicken, Sausage, & Dressing Dinner with all the trimmings on Sunday, February 26th. Serving begins at 11:30 a.m. Adult and plates to go are $10.00 and children plates are $6.00. All are invited.

SANCTUARY FLOWERS: In an effort to beautify our sanctuary during our liturgical celebrations, we would like to have fresh floral arrangements. This would be a wonderful way to honor or memorialize your loved ones. To do so, please contact Agnes Timmons during office hours so that dates can be coordinated.

PLEASE HELP: The KJZT Juniors invite the parish to participate in their People Helping People Disaster Relief Project.  The funds collected in this free will donation will be matched 100% by the KJZT state office, up to $1,000.  The money collected will benefit six Penelope children (ranging in age from 6th grade to 7 months) who recently lost both of their parents.  A neighbor family, with three children of their own, has opened their hearts and home to the children and have been granted temporary custody.  With six additional children to care for and two children in diapers, any size gift would be greatly appreciated.  Please prayerfully consider how you can help, and if you are able to assist financially, put your gift in an envelope marked “Penelope” and place it in the collection basket by Sunday February 26.  Please keep these families in your prayers.

MARRIAGE: St Mary’s in West will be offering The Choice Wine, 7 Steps to a Superabundant Marriage, a program which will be held weekly on Sundays from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. beginning March 5th – May 7th. For more information, pamphlets are available on the back table and a flyer on the bulletin board.

ABBOTT CEMETERY ASSOCIATION: A Bar-B-Q Sandwich Lunch sponsored by the Abbott Cemetery Association will be held on Sat. March 4th from 11:00 – 1:00 pm. Dine in-Carry out-Drive thru. Sandwich, beans, chips, and tea served at the Volunteer Fire Dept. Suggested donation – $7.00

CDA TACO SOUP LUNCHEON — West CDA Taco Soup and Salad luncheon on Tues. Feb. 28th at the KC Hall from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.   The donations for adults will be $7 and children $3.  “Take-outs” will be available.  There will be a Silent Auction during the luncheon.  Silent Auction items are needed.
