RICE BOWL: Our parish will be participating in CRS Rice Bowl Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten program as a way to encounter Jesus through others, especially through the most vulnerable in our world. Rice Bowls will be available at the entrances of the church on Ash Wednesday and will be collected on Easter Sunday.
SECOND COLLECTION: On Ash Wednesday, we will take up the collection for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe which supports Catholic organizations that provide affordable shelter and train seminarians in a region that still struggles from the effects of Soviet rule. Please be generous.
SECOND COLLECTION: Next weekend, there will be a special collection for the Black and Indian Missions. Your support helps evangelization efforts nationally, and specifically in our diocese through parish and school initiatives.
THANK YOU: Sincere appreciation to all those individuals who help prepare, serve, and clean up after the parish Appreciation Meal last Sunday, as well as the Youth Hamburger Supper held this past Wednesday.

U.S. Church Regulations for fasting: Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence from meat for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence from meat. The norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding from age 14 onwards.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Our parish will have Stations of the Cross at 6:30 p.m., on Fridays during Lent. In the past, they have been led by parish organizations or CCD classes. If any group wishes to lead the stations, please contact the office. Available dates include: March 3, 17, 24, 31, & April 7.

RCIA: Class will meet on Sun., Feb. 26th in the Parish Hall from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. The topics include: The Season of Lent and the Church’s Liturgical Calendar.
ADULT FORMATION: The Adult Formation Class will not meet on Wednesday, March 1st because of Ash Wednesday.
CCD NEWS: Students are encouraged to attend Ash Wednesday Mass with their family. Classes will resume the following Wednesday.
MEETINGS: There will be NO council meetings during the month of March.
CHOIR PRACTICE: There will be Choir practice after Mass on Monday, February 27th. Everyone is welcome to attend.

MINISTER SCHEDULES: New schedules for Lectors, Altar Servers, Ushers, and Eucharistic Ministers will be coming out in April. Lectors need to have received the sacrament of Confirmation. Altar Servers need to have received the sacrament of First Holy Communion. Head Ushers need to be an adult. Training is available for all these roles. If you are new and wish to be added or need to make any changes, including a new contact number, please include it on the information sheet located on the back table. Please put these in the collection basket by March 12th. Hope to see some new faces.
PLEASE HELP: The KJZT Juniors invite the parish to participate in their People Helping People Disaster Relief Project. The funds collected in this free will donation will be matched 100% by the KJZT state office, up to $1,000. The money collected will benefit six Penelope children (ranging in age from 6th grade to 7 months) who recently lost both of their parents. If you are able to help, put your gift in an envelope marked “Penelope” and place it in the collection basket by Sunday February 26. Please keep these families in your prayers.
FISH FRY: The KJZT Jrs. will sponsor a Fish Fry on Friday, March 10th, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The meal will consist of fish, french fries, cole slaw, beans, and tea. Cost of the meal is $8.00 for adult and plates to go and $5.00 for children 12 and under. The proceeds will benefit the Penelope children who lost their parents. All are invited to come out and enjoy a delicious meal.
MEALS NEEDED: Our parish will provide meals for approximately fifteen UTA college students who will be performing service projects for our parish starting Sunday, March 12th thru 15th. If you would like to help provide breakfast, lunch, or dinner, please contact Agnes Timmons.
