SECOND COLLECTION: The Catholic Home Missions Appeal will be taken up this weedend. Please be generous.

COUNCIL MEETINGS: The Finance Council will meet on Monday, July 14th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The Pastoral Council will meet immediately after, at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Election of officers will be at this meeting.

INTENTIONS NEEDED: We are in need of Sanctuary Light and Cemetery Light Intentions. Please place your intention and donation in a specially marked envelope and place in the collection basket.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Parish Family Fun Day will be held on Sunday, August 24th. Plan to come out before school starts for a fun filled afternoon. Water slides and homemade ice cream. Bring any games you would like to play. Starts at 2:00; hot dog supper at 6:00 and over at 7:00. More information will be available closer to the event. Hope to see everyone there.

CHOIR PRACTICE: There will be Choir practice after Mass on Monday, July 14th.

SPAGHETTI DINNER/RAFFLE: Our annual Spaghetti dinner is quickly approaching. The dinner and raffle will be held on Sunday, August 17th. At this time, we would like to start collecting raffle items or cash to go towards the purchase of an item. To donate, please contact any of the following individuals: Ronda Ballew at 749-4855 or Karen Marak at 582-2476. So that tickets can be printed, please contact by July 27th. All donations will be greatly appreciated.

CCD TEACHERS: For anyone wishing to serve the youth of our parish, please consider helping with our religious education program. We are always in need of individuals who are willing to teach, assist, or substitute in our classes. Please contact Traci Pustejovsky at 580-8202 if you can help out.

DISTRICT MEETING: KJZT District X Meeting will be held this Sunday, July 13, 2014. It will be hosted by West St. Ludmila Society #11 at St. Mary’s Parish Center (corner of Spruce & Marable Streets) West, Texas. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m.; Meal at 12:00 Noon; followed with the meeting at 1:00 p.m. Abbott KJZT Jr’s will be participating in the program. Let’s show our support.

BENEFIT: Benefit for Amy Barton-Finley diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma to help defray medical expenses will be held on Sunday, July 27th at the KC Hall in West. Fried chicken and sausage dinner beginning at 11:00 am, Auction at 1:00 pm. Plates-to-go, raffle, silent auction, t-shirts, face painting. For questions or donations, please contact Carolyn Kubacak at 749-3773 or donations can be dropped off at Webre Mower Service.

GRIEF SUPPORT: A grief support group meeting will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, July 17th at St. Joseph’s Hall next to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. This is a support group for those in the community who want to gain a better understanding of all the changes experienced in the grief process.

SEMINARIAN EDUCATION FUND BENEFIT: Mr. Martin Mebane, a past employee of Sykora Family Ford will be entering the seminary. There will be a Hamburger Lunch Fundraiser held at Sykora Family Ford on Saturday, July 19th to honor him and to help with his expenses. Serving will take place from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Free will donations will be accepted.
