WELCOME / THANK YOU: We are very grateful to Deacon Denver who will be conducting the Sunday Celebration in the Absence of a Priest on Saturday and to Fr. Nghia Nguyen who will be celebrating our Sunday morning Mass. Next weekend, July 23 & 24, we will have Mass on both Saturday and Sunday.
APPRECIATION: Please make plans to be at the hamburger supper on Saturday, July 23rd as we show our appreciation to Fr. Ouseph for his time spent here. The free meal will be held on Saturday, July 23rd after Mass. If you wish to bring a dessert to be shared, it would be welcomed. Please sign the list on the back bulletin board if you plan to attend.
THANK YOU: Your generosity towards The Catholic Home Missions Appeal this past weekend is appreciated. Your contributions will help to fund seminarian formation in poor dioceses of the United States.
FESTIVAL: The Church of the Assumption in West will have their Parish Festival on Sunday, August 14th at the Knights of Columbus Grounds. A home-cooked Fried Chicken (baked chicken also available) and Sausage Dinner will be served beginning at 11:00 a.m. Adults & Plates – to – go will be available. Auction, Bingo, & Water Games (bring your swim suit) will begin at 12:15 p.m. A raffle will be held at 4:00 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited to attend!
GRIEF SUPPORT: A grief support group meeting will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, July 21st at St. Joseph’s Hall next to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. This is a support group for those in the community who want to gain a better understanding of all the changes experienced in the grief process.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Penelope will be having Vacation Bible School. They have invited the youth of our parish to join them for Cave Quest – Following Jesus the Light of the World. It will begin on Sunday, July 24th and end on Thursday, July 28th. HOLY DOOR: CDA is sponsoring a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Corn Hill to visit the Holy Doors in this Jubilee Year of Mercy. This will be held on July 30, 2016. Father Stephen Nesrsta will have mass at 10:00 a.m. with a lunch being served afterwards at their Parish Center. We have chartered a bus for anyone who would like to make this pilgrimage. This is taking the place of the Day of Reflection normally held by CDA each year. This opportunity is open to all CDA members on a first-come, first serve basis. Cost is $15.00 to ride the bus and for the meal. If you choose not to ride the bus, the cost is $8.00 for the meal. If non-CDA members would like to attend they may ride the bus depending on space availability. The bus will leave from the back of Assumption Church parking lot. We are asked to park at the back of the church parking lot. Please contact Evelyn Petter at 826-5675 or 716-1710 if you will ride the bus and/or attend the mass and meal. Money is due to Evelyn by July 27.
