SECOND COLLECTIONS: Thank you for your generosity towards the special collections for The Church in Central & Eastern Europe and for the Black and Indian Missions.
RICE BOWL: Through Catholic Relief Services, we encounter Evelina in Zambia as she and other mothers in her community learn new ways to provide nutritious meals for their growing children and families. How do we ensure that those who are hungry have not only food but true nourishment?
STATIONS OF THE CROSS: Our parish will have Stations of the Cross at 6:30 p.m., on Fridays during Lent. If any group wishes to lead the stations, please contact the office. Available dates include: March 17, 24, 31, & April 7.
PENANCE SERVICE: There are several options for receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation during this Lenten Season. Besides the usual confessions times before our weekend Masses, there will be a Penance Service held in Penelope on Thursday, March 23rd from 5:00 p.m. until Mass starts at 7:00 p.m. Another Penance Service will be held at Abbott on Monday, March 27th. The service will begin with a program at 6:30 p.m. followed by confessions until 8:00 p.m. Please plan to be there for the beginning.
RCIA: Class will not be held on Sunday, March 12th due to Spring Break.
ADULT FORMATION: Class will not be held this week due to Spring Break.
CCD: Classes will not be held this week due to Spring Break.
EASTER FLOWERS: Parishioners will have an opportunity to pre-order Easter lilies. Orders need to in by March 19th. Envelopes will be provided for you to write your intentions and enclose the payment for the number of plants that you intend to purchase. They are located at the entrances of the church. The cost of each plant is $8.35. Checks should be made payable to Wolfe Wholesale Florist and can be placed in the collection basket. If you have any questions, please call the office.
TIME CHANGE: Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 12th. Don’t forget to set your clock ahead one hour.
CHOIR PRACTICE: There will be Choir practice after Mass on Monday, March 13th. Everyone is welcome to attend.
THANK YOU: Thank you to Margie and Norm Goldberg of Waco for their recent contributions to Fatima Cemetery. Over the past two years Margie and Norm have donated approximately $37,000 towards improvements to the cemetery. Their generous contributions have allowed us to construct the new fence, level a leaning brick column, sandblast and repaint the entry gates, and level grave stones.

KC MEETING: The Knights of Columbus will have their quarterly meeting this Monday, March 20th in the ACIO Building at 6:30 p.m. There will be a meal provided.

SCHOLARSHIP: The Monsignor George Doskocil Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus in West is offering $500 scholarships for graduating seniors in this area. Applications are located on the back table. The deadline to apply is April 1st.
PRAYER BOOK: The St. Mary’s Catholic Daughters of America are preparing an Easter prayer book for the congregation. All CDA members are encouraged to submit their favorite prayer to debby_marak@yahoo.com. The prayers can also be dropped off at any CDA meeting on the first Tuesday of each month at the St. Joseph’s Hall at 7:00 pm in West. The deadline for entries into the prayer book is April 1.
GRIEF SUPPORT: A grief support group meeting will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, March 16th at St. Joseph’s Hall next to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. This is a support group for those in the community who want to gain a better understanding of all the changes experienced in the grief process.
