WELCOME: This weekend, we welcome the Sisters of St. Francis’ missions, who serve the poor, with foreign missions in Mexico and home missions in Appalachia. Please help make a difference in the lives of people suffering from poverty with your prayers and financial support.
PASTORAL COUNCIL ELECTION: Many thanks to all those individuals who accepted the nomination to serve our parish on the Pastoral Council. Our congratulations to Molly Gerik, Andy Pustejovsky, and Ernie Pustejovsky who were elected to serve on the council for the next three years. Our sincere appreciation goes out to the three individuals who have completed their term on the Council; Katie Kaska, who served as a Co-Facilitator, Cheryl Schulz, and Frank Urbanovsky,
COUNCIL MEETINGS: The Finance Council will meet on Monday, May 11th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The Pastoral Council will meet immediately after, at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The KC’s will have a Pancake Breakfast on Mother’s Day, May 10th, after Mass in the Parish Hall. Free will donations will go to Gabriel Project. All are invited enjoy breakfast and support a worthy cause.
FATHER JERRY: It is with sadness that we learned of the passing of Father Jerry Ryan, O.S.A on April 29th. We offer thanksgiving for the time that Father Jerry was with us in Abbott and for the faithful servant that he was. Eternal rest grant unto Father, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
BBQ DINNER/RAFFLE: Our BBQ Brisquet & Sausage Dinner with raffle will be held on Sunday, May 24th. The meal includes brisquet, sausage, parsley potatoes, cole slaw, pinto beans, dessert, and tea. Parishioners whose last name begins with N – Z are asked to please furnish a dessert for the meal. Adult plates and Plates to go are $8.00 and children plates under 12 are $6.00. Raffle tickets are available at the entrances of the church, please take several books. Prices are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.

SECOND COLLECTION: Next week our parish will take up the Collection for the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC). This Collection communicates the Gospel through Catholic social media activities and enriches our faith through Internet, television, radio, and print media. Half of all proceeds remain in our diocese and support local needs, so please be generous in this collection. CCC equips us to share our experience of faith, worship, and witness with the world.
