CCD THANK YOU: Our parish greatly appreciates the men and women who served our parish by volunteering in our CCD program. Our teachers for this past year included Marcella Keily, Christine Rejcek, Mrs. Kathy (Eugene) Pustejovsky, Annette Ballew, Jeanette Urbanovsky, Mrs. Kathy (Phil) Pustejovsky, Gary Pustejovsky, Molly Gerik, Mrs. Kathleen (Matthew) Pustejovsky, John Gerik, Ernie Pustejovsky, and Carolyn Kirby. Our library volunteers included Karen Bartosh and Jan Bezdek. Special thanks to Traci Pustejovsky who served as our Director of Religious of Education. KJZT JUNIORS THANK YOU: The KJZT Juniors would like to thank everyone who generously supported their recent raffle ticket sale. If you missed the sale and would like to purchase tickets, please contact a junior member between now and the end of June. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5 and the top prize is a $500 Visa gift card. 100% of raffle ticket sales go toward camp fees.
MAY CROWNING: The KJZT Juniors invite the youth of our parish to join them as they honor and crown our Blessed Mother Mary with flowers at the 8 am Mass on Mother’s Day, May 11. Participants are asked to meet in the mothers’ room in the back of church before Mass so we can walk in together. Children under age 6 should be accompanied by an adult. Don’t forget to bring a spring bouquet of flowers for Mary.
BBQ DINNER/RAFFLE: Our BBQ dinner with raffle will be held on Sunday, May 18th. The meal includes BBQ beef, sausage, potatoes, cole slaw, pinto beans, dessert, and tea. Parishioners whose last name begins with A – M are asked to please furnish a dessert for the meal. Adult plates and Plates to go are $8.00 and children plates under 12 are $6.00. Raffle tickets are available at the entrances of the church, please take several books. Prices are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.
MOTHER’S DAY FLOWERS: Donations are now being accepted for Mother’s Day flowers. To honor or remember a special lady in your life, put your intentions, along with your donation in an envelope marked “Mother’s Day Flowers” and drop in the collection basket by May 4th.
KJZT JRS: The next meeting of the KJZT juniors will be Wednesday, May 7 at 6:30 pm in the Smid Center. After a quick meeting, juniors will practice for their performance for the district meeting.
KC MEETING: The Knights of Columbus will be meeting this Wednesday, May 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the rectory.
INTENTIONS NEEDED: We are in need of intentions for Sanctuary, Cross, and Cemetery Lights. Please place your intention and donation in a specially marked envelope and place in the collection basket.
KJT FAMILY DAY: The Annual KJT District V Family Day will be hosted by the Dallas Society #111. The festivities will take place at Robert Slovaks Farm in Bardwell on Sunday, May 4, 2014 starting at 12:00 pm (Registration starts at 11:00 am). ST. MARY SCHOOL SUPER RAFFLE: St. Mary’s School will host their 3rd annual Going West for the Gold Super Raffle on Saturday, June 21 at the KC hall. Tickets are $100 and include a steak dinner a drinks for two. The top prize is $6,000 with many other items to be given away also. Tickets can be purchased at the school or by calling 254-826-5991 or 254-640-1359.
SPECIAL COLLECTION: Next weekend, May 10th & 11th we will have a second collection for the Seminarian Formation Fund. Now more than ever, we have a serious need to prepare men to serve the Diocese of Fort Worth as priests. Their education and formation is very expensive and costs continue to rise. Please give generously.
COUNCIL MEETINGS: The Finance Council will meet on Monday, May 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The Pastoral Council will meet immediately after, at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.
