SECOND COLLECTION: This weekend, our parish will take up the Collection for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA (AMS). The AMS relies solely on private donors to support its mission, which will help parishioners and their families who serve or have served this nation with distinction as members of the U.S. military.  Please be generous.

FISH DINNER/RAFFLE: The Fish/Chicken dinner with raffle will be held on Sunday, November 20th.  The rest of the meal includes homemade potato salad, cole slaw, pinto beans, dessert, and tea.  Parishioners whose last name begins with A – M are asked to please furnish a dessert for the meal.  Adult plates and Plates to go are $10.00 and children plates  under 12 are $6.00. Raffle tickets are available at the entrances of the church, please take several books and sell to family and friends. Prices are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION: Parishioners will have the opportunity for personal prayer before the Blessed Sacrament on Saturday, November 12th. Adoration will take place on Saturdays of each month beginning at 4:30 p.m. and ending with Benediction at 5:30. Confessions will be heard during this time as well. The rosary will begin at 5:35 followed by Mass at 6:00 p.m. While the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in a monstrance, adorers must be present. If you can be available for one of the Saturdays, please sign the sheet near the prayer intention book at the entrance of the Church.

FEEDING FAMILIES ACROSS TEXAS: KJZT Society #104 Abbott and its Junior Division is asking for your help in raising funds for the fraternal cause, Feeding Families Across Texas.  You can help the needy in our area by donating money to benefit the local food pantry, Hillsboro Interfaith Ministries.  For every dollar our local society collects, the state KJZT office will donate matching funds of up to $400 ($200 for junior division and $200 for adult society).  If you would like to participate in this worthy cause, please put your donation in an envelope marked “Feeding Families” and drop it in the collection basket at Mass no later than November 13.  (Checks should be made payable to Hillsboro Interfaith Ministries.) Thank you in advance for your support!

PARISH DATABASE: The parish is making every effort to get a listing of all the Catholics who live within our parish boundaries. If you are a parishioner or are new to the parish and have not completed a parish registration form, please take one from the back table.  Also, if you are aware of any homebound individuals, please take them a form and assist them in completing and returning it. They can be mailed to the church at 601 W. Houston, Abbott, Texas 76621 or dropped in the collection basket.

CHOIR PRACTICE: There will be Choir practice after Mass on Monday, November 7th. Anyone is welcome to attend.

KJZT JUNIORS: The KJZT Juniors will meet on Sat., Nov. 19th at 9:00 a.m. in the big hall.

MAGNIFICAT: Our parish received some free copies of the Magnificat that can be used for personal or liturgical prayer. They are located on the back table.

COUNCIL MEETINGS: The Pastoral Council will meet on Monday, November 7th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

GARAGE SALE: there are a few items for sale in the rectory: Riding Lawnmower — $500.00 / OBO; Set of speakers: two wooden cases each containing a 16” and a 12” speaker —$50/set OBO. If you are interested in any of these items, please contact the church office.

RCIA: Class will take place on Sunday evening, November 6th from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m in the Parish Hall. The topics include: Who is the Holy Spirit?, The Holy Spirit and the Life of Grace and Sanctification, The Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit, How Are We Saved?,  Living in Relationship with the Holy Spirit. All people are invited to attend.

ADULT FORMATION: Come join the Adult Formation class on Wednesday from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. The topics include: The Church is Instituted by Christ Himself, The Church as Both Human and Divine, The Church is One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic, The Gift of the Church in Our Lives. All are invited.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: Students in the CCD Program will be participating in Operation Christmas Child. Everyone in the parish is invited to participate as well. The boxes will be packed on November 9th in the Smid Center. Flyers with more information are located on the back table. Items that you wish to include in the boxes can be brought to the Smid Center on that date or left on the back table.

PLANNING AHEAD: Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers and Jesse Romero will be giving a presentation on Mary in Buda (near Austin) on  December 2nd – 3rd.  What better way to anticipate the coming of the Lord into the world this Advent than to unite ourselves with the Woman through whom the “word became flesh?” This conference will help us discover profound insights into the richness and beauty of Marian doctrine and devotion.
