SHARING IN MINISTRY: Today we learn more about the Sharing in Ministry Bishop’s Annual Appeal, which is taking place throughout the Diocese of Fort Worth this month. This appeal gives us the opportunity to act together as a diocesan family and support programs and services no single parish can offer. Every gift is vital to the success of the appeal, which will also benefit our parish in a sharing to assist local parish needs. Please give as generously as you can to Sharing in Ministry.
SPECIAL COLLECTION: Thank you for your generous support of our second collection last weekend which was for The Catholic University of America. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU: Our thanks and appreciation to KJT #107 who purchased two Smart TVs for our Religious Education program.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Our Parish Fish Dinner has been scheduled for November 16th.
KJZT JUNIORS: The next meeting of the KJZT juniors will be Sunday, September 21 at 10 am in the Parish Hall. Please wear a camp T shirt if you have one. Don’t forget your supplies for our September project.
WORLD YOUTH DAY—The annual World Youth Day at Six Flags will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014. IHM parishioners in grades 9-12 are invited to attend. As in years past, we will spend the day at the park, attend 5PM Mass (at the park), and then return home after Mass. If you are interested, please add your name to the sign-up sheet on the table by the mother’s room by September 28. For more information, you may call or text Annette Ballew at 254-749-4151.
INTENTIONS NEEDED: We are in need of Cemetery and Cross Light intentions. Anyone wishing to send in requests may do so by enclosing the intention and donation in a specially marked envelope and placing it in the collection basket.
PARISH BAZAAR: The Church of the Nativity of the BVM in Penelope will hold its Annual Bazaar on Sunday, September 21st. A BBQ Beef tip, sausage and all the trimmings meal will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Adult & Plates to go are $9.50 and children under 12 are $6.00. See the flyer on the back bulletin board for a listing of other activities.
GRIEF SUPPORT: A grief support group meeting will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, September 18th at St. Joseph’s Hall next to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. This is a support group for those in the community who want to gain a better understanding of all the changes experienced in the grief process.
RACHEL MINISTRIES: Rachel Ministries is offering two confidential weekend retreats for healing after abortion; one in English on October 10-12, and one in Spanish on October 31-November 2. The retreat will help if you are struggling with grief, guilt and pain after abortion and want to find healing and hope. Come and experience the mercy, forgiveness and healing love of God in the company of others who understand what you’re going through. For more information in English, please call our confidential English helpline at 817-923-4757 or email forgiven@racheltx.org. For more information in Spanish, please call our confidential Spanish helpline at 817-886-4760 or email misericordia@racheltx.org. Confidentiality is strictly observed.
